"He thinks I'm all Jewish paranoia..." (Deconstructing Harry)

With all the commotion early this morning, I was grasping at straws. Was someone Richard works with mad at him? Did someone in the building poison my hamsters as part of a harassment campaign? Richard chalked this up to "American paranoia", which didn't sit well with me. I may be paranoid, but I live in Canada. And our neighbors are frequently coked-out, vengeful whackjobs. And some of the people Richard works with are, well, insane. I dismissed all these theories immediately, but who can blame me if they crossed my mind and I wanted to eliminate them as possibilities? Now that I've calmed down (though I'm still too bummed out to sleep), I realize that my rodents probably died from colds that hit them both quickly. Whoever called me was using a land line, not a cel, so the window-banging could just be a strange coincidence.

I apologized to Richard for being upset over the possibility of never having another pet, and I think if we move into a larger place, I can keep a small animal even if it turns out he is allergic. And he apologized for calling me a fearful American, acknowledging that this a ridiculous stereotype (propagated by Michael Moore and about a zillion other filmmakers recently). In the words of Woody Allen, "No, I don't think you're paranoid. You're the opposite of paranoid: You go around with the insane delusion that everyone likes you."

As for my friendly late-night caller, his number is 1-780-431-1723. Don't know who he is, but feel free to give him a call any ol' time. ;)

Richard says...by accussing you of being typical american paranoid you first had to give me reasons to say so. That evening you accused me "Did you flirst with someones wife/girlfriend at work to cause them to do such a terrible thing"? I was floored by that remark. Sarah delves into the negativity through constant negative television and books on the occult, serial killers, serial rapers, demons and devils 24/7, sometimes not sleeping cause she's reserching this stuff and her mind never rests.Mike Moore (Bowling for Columbine) portrays the average American as living in fear from the constant influences of negative television and movies they are saturated with , not to mention the 6 o clock news. My point to Sarah that morning is that theres more good in the world than bad , but we never spend the time observing it. That obcene phone call and banging on the windows was unfortunate and rare. She forgot to mention the sun shone that same morning and it was a wonderful day to be alive, She was too busy to notice as she was delving into more negative tv or books. I think in America negative is big business and it sells, alarm systems, bars on windows, more guns to hide under pillows, Americas at war with Terror and they live in fear of it day to day. Well not all Americans let this fear run there life, some have learned not to allow fear control there life, Some except each day as a blessing to be alive and eecept the bad and good that life has, some also learn that if we really look hard we can see theres more good than bad.
Love you Sarah
