Packing and cleaning, cleaning and packing. Sigh. We're packing like it's no tomorrow even though there is a tomorrow and it clearly involves more packing.
We were supposed to be in our new place this time last week, but the lawyers are dilly-dallying (read: wasting everyone's freakin' time). We might be in our new digs on Monday (I'd knock wood but most of it's packed already), then we have just a few days to paint and enamel the floor before moving - if we're lucky. Poor Richard is a nervous wreck. But we're looking forward to being moved in and settling into our condo.
We tried to donate our circa-1974 loveseat, the monstrosity, to a homeless shelter. They took the chair and ottoman, but as they were lugging the loveseat from Hell across the living room the movers noticed a long horizontal slit in the back of it. I'd completely forgotten that we sliced the couch open to rescue a late hamster, Cliff. So, charity wouldn't take it. Pretty bad.
