Lucid Dream, the Movie

About a year ago Richard volunteered to baby-sit a young director who wanted to film scenes for his movie in the theatre, and spent a whole day watching the guy (accompanied by his mom and dad, executive producers) do take after take after take. Richard wasn't sure what the movie was about, but it seemed to be a sci-fi fantasy about a relationship gone bad involving giant styrofoam ants and robots. Anyway, he was asked to be an extra in one scene (along with one of the ants and the lead actress). We didn't hear anything more about the film, Lucid Dream, until the director called a few weeks ago to let us know that it's going to be screened at my favourite li'l downtown theatre (the one with the seats upholstered with Cookie Monster fur) this Thursday! This is when we found out the film is 9 minutes long. Ah well, they're screening it with Raiders of the Lost Ark, which I've never actually seen in its entirety because my mom made me close my eyes at the end when they open the Ark.

Here's the theatre description of Lucid Dream: "With no job, a marriage on the rocks, and garbage to take out, Harold just wants to lie on the couch, eat chips, and watch 'Robots vs. Androids' on television. Rita, Harold's wife, has other plans. As Rita lists all of his faults, Harold falls asleep. But even in his dreams, he finds no rest- as his dreams turn to nightmares!"

Alrighty then!
In my defense, the end of Raiders was too intense for a small child. So there!!
BTW, why do you remember THAT, but you don't remember watching Legend?
