The Ballad of Jack and Rose

The Ballad of Jack and Rose is finally playing here. It feels like I saw the trailer about 7 years ago. Tomorrow's cheap night so I'll go by myself while Demi and Richard have some father-daughter time. (In other words, they might not be speaking to each other by the time I get home. Heehee.)
I have no idea why I want to see this film. I'm not a huge Daniel Day-Lewis fan, although he's indisputably good. I really just go on gut feelings when I read a review or see a trailer - I usually know instantly if I want to see the movie. With Rushmore, it was a one-sentence ad in People that sucked me in: "A chronic underachiever stages Serpico at an exclusive private school." With The Ballad of Jack and Rose, it was probably a combination of the music ("I Put a Spell on You") and the fact that it looks like a somewhat creepy psychological drama in which each character has enough baggage to fill an airport carousel.
Check out the trailer here: http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/theballadofjackandrose.html

I'm looking forward to Asylum (a Brit mental institution love story/thriller) and Corpse Bride. On DVD I want to see Thumbsucker and maybe Primer. For research I'll certainly be seeing The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
