In response to my post "Bad Satanist! Bad!", The Zombieslayer wrote, "I've known many Satanists in my days and one thing they all have in common - not enough attention from their parents." Well, I think he was spot-on. Here's a recent post to an online Satanic group:
"I am a young male satanist, 30 years old living in northern Europe. I am very interested in sex magic and rituals of all kinds and hope to find a group to participate in. I have some experience and have been a slave for a group before. I am ready to give my body to you and can be used to almost anything. Through the humiliation I will become one with the Father."
Alrighty then.

I'll stick with Christianity, thank you very much! Gives you the shivers, doesn't it?
Oh, my goodness. Poor boy.
I agree, diagnosis from ZS -- spot on.
I was a heavy metal musician from '89-94. Some of the bands I played with had Satanists. Nice people, but deeply troubled. When I met their families, I saw why they became Satanists.
The way to beat Satanism is spend quality time with your kids. Satanism is a cry for attention. What better way to get attention then be everything that is not good?
I have so much trouble understanding the human need to participate in rituals. Be they Christian, Wiccan, Budhist, whatever. I find them to be unhealthy and destructive, yet.....
Even as an atheist, I find I have certain rituals, and I get upset if these don't take place. I guess they are all about finding your place in a family or community.
I think everyone craves some kind of ritual or tradition to give continuity to their lives, but I doubt the whip-me-beat-me traditions are doing THIS guy any favours...
