Oblivious

I was totally unaware that the Oilers are bound for the Stanley Cup finals until I turned down the new Springsteen/Pete Seeger album and heard what sounded like thousands of horns blaring across the city. Didn't even have the TV on. What a pathetic excuse for a Canadian I am, sometimes.

Actually I was sorting through old notes, preparing a Rennes-le-Chateau post for tomorrow, part one of a "Da Vinci" series.

I think he's still alive, but he's not on the album. It's just covers of his old songs (in a weird ragtime/zydeco/folk style that sounds AWESOME).
He's about 103. :D

Having lived through the chaos of the Habs in MOntreal in '93, complete with organized rioting, and the constant failures of the Leafs, I'm glad someone from Canada is in the playoffs- and that they're not in my neighbourhood; I'm hunkering down for 6 weeks of hell: World Cup, in the middle of a Portugal/Brazil/Italy/Korea enclave. No sleep til it's over...rigama frigama...

Riots just take all the fun out of it - and for me playoffs aren't all that fun in the first place!
