My sister and I talk about this concept all the time! We're both single. I've seen interviews with couples that marry late in life and this is how they get by. Works for me.
I have a great-aunt who was married for years and lived apart from her husband, and it seemed to work for them. Of course it probably wasn't any picnic, 'cause they each lived with their parents...
My boyfriend and I always talk longingly of at least having separate bedrooms. The idea that you're supposed to share EVERYTHING with your life partner seems ludicrous and unrealistic to me. But don't tell my boyfriend...
"All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom." - Albert Einstein

OUch! Thats' my first, supreme rule after the last one: must not live with parental units. It's a gimme, really.
