Still recovering from the flu, but I should be all better by the end of the week!

What happened? Does this have something to do with what's going on over at your mom's site?

Glad you're on the road to recovery!

Let's hoping that the bad ones DIE! I got a flu shot, but that doesn't guarantee anything. Last year when I got the flu, the doc did a blood test and I had the same exact flu I was innoculated for. Hope you are climbing out of the icks.

WHERE did the comments come from?

I suspected flu shots weren't working...I've heard that's happened to a few people! Bummer. Guess there's nothing to do but take your vitamins, avoid known sickies, and cross your fingers.

And speaking of known sickies, yes, I enabled the comment moderation because he thinks he's tremendously clever posting as one of his make-believe friends. The link led to the "Deathwatch" page that mostly contains dead links.

I've never had a flu shot and never had the flu. Not a fan of the flu shot for normal folks, actually, even though it was free in Ontario when I lived there. Unless your immune deficient in some way, work with a high risk group, or are elderly, why pump your body full of this stuff that offers no guarantee whatsoever when you can take reasonable precautions that are probably just as effective? Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth...

I feel the same. I understand the shots only help with one strain of flu, the one expected to strike that year, so your odds aren't that great. Then the shot only works for about 6 mos., meaning there's probably a period between shots where you're vulnerable (that's what happened to Richard this year). It's worth it for the older people and people already sick with something else, but for the average healthy person I think prevention is just as good.

I'm still a little draggy, but probably at least 90% better than I was a few days ago. I hate summer colds and flus! Hope you start feeling better, too. It can't be easy to be sick with two little ones in the house.
