Whew. A Child's Christmas in Wales wrapped tonight, so I kinda have my blogging life back now! And I can finally decorate the rest of our tree. Richard helped dismantle the set tonight while I helped lay out the feast and clean up the detritus of a 20-person cast. Amazingly, given the age range involved in this show, the actors came together to form an excellent team. It was a truly unique show. Half the cast was English-Canadian and over 55, half was under 16 and purely Canadian. Except for the large-and-in-charge girl, who has an English mom and a very German dad. (He was talking excitedly with the elderly fellow about the Wermacht at the party) The director is actually from Swansea, Dylan Thomas's hometown, and her grandmother grew up with Dylan Thomas's mother.
The cast & crew gave me a bottle of wine. My Secret Santa turned out to be the same person I picked - weird. I gave him a build-your-own Stonehenge and he gave me a groovy framed picture of the cast looking like idiots.
Poor Mitch, the youngest in the cast, sprung his braces during the party and had to walk around with a squiggly wire sticking out of his mouth.
Fortunately for the sound guy, none of the parents discovered what a horrible influence he was on their children. None of the them, apparently, repeated, "Hook a nigga up!" or "Damn, I would tap that." ;D
Anyway, I'm pooped. I feel too old for this staying up all night stuff.

Jack says "HI!", and to tell you he's always wanted to do that play!
Now that the play is over, let's see some pictures of the new tree!
Hopefully I'll have those up today or tomorrow. Forgot I have a one-act meeting tonight! :D
Glad its wrapped! It's amazing how wild these things get, how we think they'll never pull together and then they turn out...wonderful!
I am glad to hear that the play was a hit for you. You said that you are getting to old for these all nighters. LOL!!! Thankfully you dont have any kids that are going to be wanting slumber parties and worrying about them getting into stuff. I mean you have D and A but they are only there certain times of the year. LOL!!!! Well rest and enjoy the holiday spirit. Oh before I forget if you read this before you read your e-mail how do you enable for annonymous messages. MOms been having troubles leaving comments on beta blogger.
Yeah, how come you and the Nutter can comment at Tweet's, but I can't? I can't use my identity at Shawn's either. :(
Oh, the poor kid with the braces! I can sympathize; something similar happened to me once in school, though I didn't have a wire hanging out of my mouth - just one bodging me in the cheek all day.
Well I'm just off to bed, but I'll email some instructions for shutting off anon comments to you tomorrow, Tweets.
I can't comment at Shawn's, either, but I haven't had trouble anywhere else. He must be cursed.
I'd never seen braces go completely haywire like that, poor guy! And he broke his arm just after his audition, too. I was hesitant to say "break a leg" cause I thought he might.
Thanks Sme. I have a sick one home today again and hope she can go back to school tomorrow because they have from friday till Jan 2nd off for x-mas break. YIKES!!! Its not that bad w hen they arent fighting over something. I am glad thoug that the play went well for you all. I would be afraid to say break a leg too after that happened. Well anyway I shall be going. Have to go get some more laundry out of the basement and put some more in. Its been rough doign laundry lately with K being so sick. Also when you get a minute i have some recent pix of the girls I need your home address again. I am out of x-mas cards but i will just put one in the envelope for you. I sent one to your mom and dad and then we will go see them when we go home in March. Well I am really going this time. N.
