Some favorite Christmas decorations...

Mini-tree for the bedroom. It's covered in apples and teeny ornaments I've had forever. Below it is a mouse in a cradle with "Not a Creature was Stirring" carved on it. (I have a LOT of rodent-themed Christmas stuff...)

The doll looks a bit goofy, but it's covered in fiber-optic bristles that look awesome when it's turned on. I mean switched on.

And an old-fashioned tin Christmas circus that plays several calliope carols.

That doll is strangely hypnotic. Really, you can fall asleep watching it!

Gee, somebody with really good taste must've given you all those cool decorations. ;)
I told you, you'd get hooked on the fiber optics.

They do really look neat sme. I have to admit I have been really weepy the last couple of day with the holidays around the corner. I thinnk its just the holidays. Remembering getting together with family and friends and now its just us. OH well nothing I can do about it so there is no reason to be so weepy. My mom lost most of the precious ornaments from me from school and stuff so I am making promises that I wont do that to my girls. I cant have stuff sitting around on tables. The girls woudl walk away with them and try using them as toys. LOL.... Well anyway Merry X-mas and talk to you all on Tuesday.

I hope you feel better soon, Tweets. It sucks that your folks lost things you made for them - did that happen by accident over the years, or did they just lose some stuff? Anyway, I'm sorry that happened and I know you'll do everything you can to preserve your own Christmas memories. Remember that you're a family now and can create the kind of Christmases you and J want for your girls!

Yes we will. My mom just lost stuff with all the moves we made. It seemed we never stayed in one spot real long as you can probably remember. But the girls know about Santa but we really dont do Santa. They know he represents Christmas but its just how J was brought up so we compromised on a lot. Snow tonight into tomorrow. 3-5 inches. YUCKIE.... We are suppose to go to Rice Lake WI tomorrow and dont know if we are going to be able to go or not. My dad lives out there. I am not talking about Ken either. Yes I know like I said on your moms blog a little while ago its a suprise to most to know Kens not my real dad. Hes my dad in all senses but not my real dad. He adopted me when I was K's age. I could go into it but I wont. They gave me the best life they thought was possible so that is all I have to be thankful for and now I have an extended family to spend time with in between my moms visits to see the girls.

I remember you telling me that Ken wasn't your real dad, so it's not much of a surprise to me that you've met your real dad and half-siblings. I think it's great that you guys can have a relationship! It must have been interesting to go from being an only kid to this.

I think it's probably a good thing that your girls aren't too invested in Santa. I think it's a little odd when people insist on their kids believing in Santa, when he really doesn't have much to do with Christmas. It's a creepy story, anyway: Some fat guy who uses elves and reindeer as slave labor, breaking into your house once a year!

You should have seen my dad with the girls on Saturday. I will post that this afternoon. Boy was it funny. He took them to Wal Mart and got them one of those bears from build a bear workshop type thing. It was wonderful. Then he took off in the store with them on me. It was fun. He enjoyed himself somethign fiere. I will post there presents and some pix of our trip to my dads house this afternoon.

Cool! I'll bet the girls loved that. Those build-a-bear places look awesome.
