Stephen Colbert did not coin the word "truthiness", which has been named Merriam-Webster's Word of the Year. He just brought it back from the dead.
The word "truthy" is, in fact, in the Oxford English Dictionary.
However, one of his writers coined the phrase "pacifist vegetarian rodent agenda", and for that I am eternally grateful. At long last, I have found my agenda...
Thanks to everyone who visited from Dr. John's Fortress yesterday! I enjoyed reading all your comments.
Cool news: CBC's The Hour with George Strombonopolous (hope I spelled that right...) has been featuring tidbits from Disinfo's 50 Things You're Not Supposed to Know series.

Re: Putty - I've heard of everything now! Oh BTW, someone had a delightful calendar post - I don't remember who now, but yesterday I found a roadkill calendar - was going to post it - but it was pretty graphic
Ah, another last-minute Christmas gift taken care of!
No, not really. I wouldn't even give a roadkill calendar as a tacky gift.
We MUST have the bobblehead to give to OUR crazy Aaron!! ;)
D, I never thought of taking pictures of roadkill. I could make a calendar out of the roadkill we've scraped out of our driveway alone!
One Sunday morning we found a roadkill deer in our driveway!
Heehee. I don't understand why the putty's scented. Does sniffing putty relieve stress?
I can't imagine the roadkill calendar selling very well, partly because you can just lean out the window any day of the week and see plenty for yourself...
Damn - cannot watch the Hour at the hospital! There's always someone hogging the TV. You're close with the name, though; just a couple letters off. It's a toughie.
I've never heard of "truthines" but I like it!
You know, I was thinking as I wrote that, "I bet WC can't watch George because someone else wants to watch something stupid". Dangit. Well, it's an ongoing thing so you might catch some of the "things you're not supposed to know" sooner or later - hopefully sooner!
