My Week in Preview

Monday: Take Sophie to the vet. Today I realized I put more time and care into selecting a rabbit vet than I did in selecting my own dentist, stylist, and doctor combined, which probably means I've become one of *those women* who is clearly a pet's bitch. Not that I have a problem with that. I'll just blame it on my parents, for raising me in a part of the world densely populated with mice, rabbits, voles, flying squirrels, gray squirrels, red squirrels, ground squirrels, and chipmunks. I'm happiest when surrounded by rodents, what can I say?
BTW, did you know Hemingway was a cat lady? A ship's captain gave him a six-toed cat because they're considered good luck (and good mousers), and he provided for that cat's descendants in his will. To this very day, his Key West home is The Kingdom of the Six-Toed Cats.

Tuesday: Watch an ABC Primetime special on the Richard Hamlin case. Dude is doing serious time for beating the b'jeezus out of his wife, but he insists she was really beaten up by members of her father's Satanic cult. Yeah. Well. We've all had our in-law problems.

Wednesday: Lost! Lost! Lost!

Thursday: Zip. Might take in Pan's Labyrinth, 'cause it looks excellent. (The Devil's Backbone was hands-down the finest supernatural thriller of the past 10 years, IMO)

Friday/Saturday: Run lights for a production of Les Liasons Dangereuses.

Sunday: Watch Spongebob reruns in my p.j.s and pretend I'm keeping the Sabbath holy, when in reality I'm just slackin'.

You know I was thinking about doing something like this just the other day. LOL... Going through and just letting everyone know what sort of tv we watch here in my household. I still might one of these days. Give everyone a few days to review what I have here first before I block it all out. LOL...I am still missing Gardenia's and Notta Walllflower I think her name is. Tweets.

Pan's Labyrinth is well worth it. I vote for that. We take better care of our dog than we do ourselves, I totally understand. Didn't know that about Hemmingway - they don't put that trivia tidbit on the tour in Oak Park...

Are you saying our family is "squirrely"? ;)
You know, I never realized this, but I'm the same way. I ALWAYS make sure that the dog has a yearly checkup, shots, heartworm meds, etc. But I don't always get a yearly pap test or mammogram!

I'll definitely check out Pan's Labyrinth this week. Seems like a movie that would be best on the big screen.

What do you wanna bet I'll get Sophie spayed before I get my wisdom teeth pulled? ;D

However, IF Sophie had a vote, I'm sure she'd vote for your wisdom teeth. ;)

I have my top two wisdom teeth all the way in and part of one botton one. I havent been to a dentist since I left MN. K has her second dentist appointment tomorrow. She did really well with the first one. The took x-rays with that one and she didnt gag like her father on the strips they use. LOL... You should see him. He just cant keep the strips in his mouth very long. Some people are just that way though. Well anyway hope Sophies dr appt went well for her. Talk later. N.

LOL, I always gag on those dumb strips too. It's good that K's not afraid of the dentist at such a young age. She'll probably always be OK about dental checkups because you started her young.

My dentist has been after me big-time to get my wisdoms yanked before they develop deeper roots. I'm a bit hesitant about letting her do it 'cause the last two dentists I went to said they needed to be surgically removed, but I guess I'll take my chances. The longer you wait, the harder it is to heal - poor Richard is still infected.

Sophie's appointment went well; she actually held still and didn't try to play with the vet's towel. She's nearly 5 lbs and very healthy.

Pan Labyrinth is a brilliant film. I had no idea what to expect and was surprised by the many different turns of events, it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time!

As for the pet's bitch... it happens, usually to first time moms with their kids. Don't let them take advantage!

I'm waiting for Lost, too, but hoping that it gets better than it has been recently. I only have so much patience for a show to get its act together. :-P

Heehee, I think a lot of people are feeling that way about Lost. I have faith that the 2nd half of the season will be excellent. It better be, after keeping us waiting for 3 months...

Ah, yes: the return of LOST. I can hardly wait, though I'm not too fond of the new time slot.

I saw the first half of Pan's Labyrinth and thought it was incredible. The second half wouldn't play. I think I downloaded a bad copy, so I'll have to retry later.

I've only heard good things about Pan's Labyrinth so far. I guess I can pick 'em. ;)

I really hope you see Pan's Labyrinth. Would love to see your review. I'm waiting for it on DVD.

Cheers for adding me to your blogroll, I had not asked you for permnission when I did.. :P

My boss did not approve my leave to South Africa, so I'm not going. It's funny, I always imagined that if you have time and money you can do anything you like - apparently not.

oooh and Lost is good too. I especially fancy Sawyer.... huh I meant the great vivid plot and cool stories. ;)

LOL.. I missed half of American Idol tonight because I fell asleep on the couch not feeling to hot myself. I came home from getting K today and ended up with the chills and a fever and just felt yuckie and then when J came home I made him some dinner and then laid down on the couch and fell asleep and slept off waht ever I had. So I would have missed Lost also. Its jsut ending here. Hope it was good. Tweets.

Ooh, Tweets, you're not having a good winter for colds, are you? Wish I could help! My only suggestion would be, take Ester (vitamin) C. It's a form of Vitamin C that does wonders for colds/flus, and you can find it at most grocery stores.

"Lost" wasn't bad. Learned more about the DHARMA Iniative's recruitment practices and a lot about Juliet. I admit I like Locke more than any other character. Does that make me a sicko? ;D

Folks, SME's rabbit hates me, I know it, Its pure Evil after biting me for chair possession last week it chomped on SME early today, later it played the little cutie from rabbit hell snuggling up to her... I do like the little Beelzebub though we are having a real female dominate fight on our hands between sme, Sophie and butters our killer hamster,(all female) in the end I'll have to remind them all that I'm the one who wears the pants in this house...when sme says I can say so

Hawk, I feel your pain. I live in testosterone hell here!

I thought Lost last night was pretty good. It was interesting to see Juliet's story and the creepy recruiting tactics of Dharma. I'm surprised she let Sawyer & co. go, though. I'm still not sure where they're going with her, but I assume this situation is where she's going to become a leader.

I just saw the actor who plays Ben on an episode of Without a Trace. He played a creep there, too.

Definitely an interesting Lost. Some insight into DHARMA and the position of its "volunteers". Clearly, they want certain people on the island at certain times and will go to any lengths to get them there - but for what? Why a fertility specialist?

I don't think letting Saywer and Kate "go" is much of a sacrifice for any of the Others. They can't go far; the Others will always know where to find them if they want them back.

Sophie's new nickname: Beelzebunny. Heh heh.
