A Sappy Moment (forgive me)

Richard went out to get a haircut this afternoon, and came home with an early 6th anniversary present: A beautiful Claddagh ring (Irish wedding band)! I've never been a fan of rings, but this one means soooo much to me. I didn't know about them until a few years ago, when we found one someone had lost and Richard explained it to me. Since then I've secretly wanted one. It's ideal for a person who isn't big on marriage but is big on commitment. I'll wear it proudly.

Just as I put it on, "Mull of Kintyre" started playing on the stereo. How cool is that?!

I get a file not found error when clicking the link.

Mrs. Z wears a Celtic neckless.

Whooops. OK, I fixed that.

Is it one of those Celtic knots? Those are awesome. I know a girl who draws them as a sort of meditative thing, like Buddhists do with mandalas.

I just realized Mull of Kintyre is Scottish, not Irish. Ah, well. Close enough. ;D

Sounds really beautiful. I need to get my wedding band sized and then I want my rings welded together where if I lose one I lose them both. But I have been having problems with the gold in my engagement ring. I have tried clear finger nail polish and its doesnt stay. Every time my ring on my finger get wet and they connect I get this terrible rash under my ring and have to take my ring off till the rash heals. When it warms up I am going to go to the jewelry store by our house and see what they can suggest for it.

That especially meaningful, coming from an Irishman!
How are you wearing it?

Tweets, I lost my wedding ring. It fell off my finger on the busiest street in the city, and I asked every business on it if the ring had shown up in their lost & found. It was my great-great-grandmother's and I still feel sick thinking about it. I really hope you don't lose yours!

I'm sure the jeweler could suggest something for the rashiness. Maybe there's some kind of ring liner they can put in?

I'm wearing the Claddagh as a wedding ring, since we're common-law. How white-trash is that? ;D

You know Sme if J and I wouldnt have had the girls I doubt we would have gotten married anytime soon. But we mainly did it for the girls after all this time. I mean we wanted to be married but K was starting to look at me siging my maiden name and lookig at her name because she had just learned how to spell it and trying to explain it to her wasnt easy. But its over. We all have the same last name. LOL. That is the pits about your wedding ring.

I'd definitely get married if we were having kids, but we're not, and Demi and Aaron seem to understand the situation pretty well. They know I'm divorced and their dad is twice-divorced and that between us we don't think a fourth marriage would add anything to our relationship. :D
