Finally!!!!

MagicEye pictures came out when I was about 15. I was strolling around a mall with a guy I was dating after an out-of-town speech competition, and suddenly we came across these people from every walk of life, gawking in fascination at a display of psychedelic art. Didn't look like such hot stuff to me, but they were all muttering "Holy, this one's a camel. Aw cool, a hippo!" I started to worry about the town's water supply.

But the guy I was with could see them, too, and he spent a good 20 minutes trying to teach me how to do it. No go. The squiggles remained squiggles for the next 14 years. My dad (who's blind as a bat but could still see them) patiently tried to teach me the trick...friends attempted to pass on the secret but gave up in frustration...my own practice sessions led only to more fields of obnoxiously colorful squiggles.

Then, today, for the hell of it, I googled "Magic Eye" and gave it one more shot. And it worked. It WORKED!! I saw a 3-D heart, clear as day, in this picture.

See? It's all about patience and perserverance. Even when the goal is to see a dumbass picture. (But if you try too see the 3-D images, make sure you're not looking at a Pollock painting. Voice of experience.)

Ha, I remember those.

Congrats on finally seeing it. A whole new World is opened up to you.

Or something.

You know what's funny about having an astigmatism? I can pretty much just take off my glasses and see the secret image... It kinda takes the fun out of it though.

Yeah. Annoys me that I spent 14 years trying to see the #%*&@ things, and come to find out they're not very interesting.

There's hope, Mom and Richard. There's hope.
Actually I think Richard's full of it...I'm pretty sure he can see them. ;P

I've never seen anything in those images. I even remember thinking to myself that people made it up and that there is nothing to see. But happy for you that your perseverance paid off.

I suspected that at times, too. "The Magic Eye Conspiracy". ;D
