Like Regular TV, Except it Doesn't Suck

What to do before the Fall Reading Challenge begins, since I don't want to OD on fiction beforehand? Watch some old TV shows online, of course...

Serial Experiments Lain: This eerie anime is somewhat like The Matrix, except it doesn't suck. A young girl receives an email from a schoolmate who apparently committed suicide, telling her that a meta-Internet realm called The Wire is really a glorious afterlife. "God is here." Creepy.

Children of the Stone: This is a UK miniseries that aired on Nickelodeon's The Third Eye when I was about 7, and I was too chicken to watch it then. A geologist and his son move to a village dominated by a circle of ancient stones, and notice that the locals are rather strange. It's like The Wicker Man for kids, except it doesn't suck.

Those sound interesting. Do you have to pay to watch them?? Just wondering. I have never done so before and if I wanted to go watch them this afternoon I could. I am taking a day off before my mom and Ken get here.

Tweets - I'm watching Serial Experiments on YouTube and Children of the Stone at TV-Links, so nope, I'm not paying. I would've bought or rented Children of the Stone if it was available outside the UK, but it isn't yet.

Laura - Well, without the nudity or human sacrifice. But it is about ancient practices.
