9/11/07

On the 6th anniversary of 9/11 Richard and the other local Truthers are out with their signs and leaflets. In a couple hours I'll be meeting them at the theatre to watch 9/11: Press for Truth and the 2nd edition of Loose Change (though I've seen them a dozen times apiece, and I can't stand Loose Change).
I'll post again later tonight.

What are my thoughts six years after the worst foreign terrorist attack on American soil? Mostly, tiredness. I'm tired of the administration's lies, which are being replaced by a fascistic bully-boy attitude. "OK, so you don't want us to do this, we'll do it anyway. Stop us."
I'm tired of wars that aren't accomplishing anything of substance and apparently shouldn't have been started. I'm tired of the broad hints from neocons that we must defend Israel against Iran. Israel can defend itself. 90 minutes at Entebbe? Hell, we could learn a few things from Israel. Better to let Israel fight its own battles than to ignite WWIII. I'm tired of the creepy, leering grins of Bush and Cheney. (Keep smiling, guys, you're going down in history as one of the nation's worst presidencies ever.) Most of all, I'm tired of 6 years of fighting with not much to show for it except bodies and heightened tensions.

If you read Monicar's blog you should go read my comment on there today. I cant rephrase it for you to repeat it here. LOL.. Yes I do agree tired of listening to all the people say nothing has changed but we have lost so many people and I am not just talking about the people in NYC. I am talking about all the soliders that have gone over there to defend our country and keep us safe. But they have lost there lives for what EXACTLY????? I am not 100% sure if Bush knows. Oh well I am ranting again arent I.

I'm tired of the ineptitude and bickering!
Yes, we need to fight a war on terrorism. Are we doing it right? HELL NO!

Unfortunately, Israel couldn't fight a cold without the US.

On another note, I had a very fascinating dream last night in which I met you and your family on a road trip I took with my dad through the States. We all had such a great time (except for my dad, who is painfully shy and didn't understand how I knew you all) - dinner and laughs, but for some reason, Z was really shy and reluctant to come out and meet me. Pretty cool.

Well, then Israel will have to work on beefing itself up enough to win. It shouldn't rely on foreign support for its existence. Is that too harsh?

Funny about your dream...Z can be a little shy around new people!

No, it is not too harsh at all. I agree. But it is a symbiotic relationship - Israel gets arms and money, the US gets a huge market and influence in the middle east.

Cool dream WC!
We'll definitely make it happen someday!
Z can be shy. But if you get the right conversation going, he can't resist joining in.
