I wonder if Kleenex sales in Japan actually went down after this ad... Maybe people reached for the boxes, thought of that freaky unicorn-baby, and changed their minds.
I don't get it. I do know that in Japan at that time period, they liked to use English, and the joke was they spoke Engrish because it was so bad. The thing is, they didn't realize it was bad.
Well, they tried. It's not a bad song they used, at least. But somehow, seeing a woman tickle a grumpy red unicorn-baby just doesn't bring on any urges to purchase facial tissues. I'm sure Japanese people are secretly amused by our efforts to speak Japanese, too.

Just plain assed weird. they try and remake our commercials but they dont make any sense.
