World's Shortest Movie Review: "Ratatouille"

Summary: A palate-conscious rat named Remy longs to be a great chef. A bumbling cook named Linguini just wants to hold down a job. Combine them and you get...a big ol' mess.

Upsides: I bought this one sight unseen, 'cause with Pixar, rats, and cooking I couldn't possibly go wrong. It's a strange combo, but it works. It's like Hell's Kitchen mixed with The Secret of NIMH and the French-chef scene from The Little Mermaid. Utterly adorable (if you like rats), beautifully animated, and a marvelous pick-me-up on a cold winter's day. I think this movie will be providing me with screenshot desktops all winter long.

Downside: My only complaint is with the marketing related to this movie. Fer the love of God, no matter how cute he is, you should never put a picture of a rat on a pineapple.
Unrelated Aside: Rats rule. I don't care what anybody says - they're fascinating critters, and more clever than many humans. (And that whole Bubonic plague thing has been blown waaay out of proportion.)

Little related note, you brought up Hell's Kitchen. I can't get enough of Gordon Ramsey! One part Emeril, one part Lewis Black. :P

Dude needs some serious therapy, but he is entertaining in a trainwrecky, OMG-I-think-he's-having-a-massive-coronary-right-before-our-eyes sorta way.

I absolutely loved this movie! My brother took the entire family (including the fave auntie) to see it and I think we had more fun than the kids!

I gotta say, Ratatouille was one of the best Pixar/Disney films yet. They seem to outdo themselves with every new movie.

Yep, this was an absolute treat. A feast for the eyes and cute to boot. (and finally, a good movie about rats!) Pixar hasn't let me down yet.

Tweets, yikes is right! Hope he gets a break from that soon.

Yeah, really. Poor rats. It was the fleas that were carrying the plague. I'm sure the rats would have been much happier if they didn't have the fleas on them. Stupid fleas.

One of these days, I'll rent that one. I just haven't gotten around to it.

Yeah, and I have yet to see a decent movie about fleas. ;P
