Bizzy

I've got a lot of weird issues and commitments right now: Sinus and wisdom tooth trouble (which won't be resolved til my dentist gets back from vacation), research on an alleged phenomenon known as "gangstalking" (which may or may not exist, depending on who you ask and what level of medication they are on at the time), and research on the 9/11 claims of Truther Barry Zwicker (I promised someone I would post a response to the second chapter of his book, Towers of Deception, at Swallowing the Camel). In the meantime, Richard and his crew are freaking out over fascist implications of H.R. 1955 (perhaps not without reason, but there's very little we can do about it in Canada). I wish there was a vaccine for paranoia. But of course vaccines are being used by the Reptilian New World Order elite to inject us with nanobacteria that will give us Morgellons Disease (synthesized in an offworld lab, I understand) and/or turn us into morons. As if we need any help.

I'm also reading Insomnia for the Winter Reading Challenge. I chose it because it has some link to the Dark Tower series, which is reportedly a huge influence on Lost.

Don't tell me that...I just finished the end of season two. Hmmm, I'm quite upset about Mr. Eko. Dammit. And now you're telling me about literary influences on the show???? Arrrggh. More reading.

You obviously haven't checked your comments at "Camel", so I'll tell you what's wrong with you. The NWO is shooting lasers at your tooth with a DEW. It's TRUE, Julianne said so! ;)

I'm paranoided out at the moment, so I won't be reading any more conspiracy blogs for a couple weeks. I can only take that shit in small doses. YOU have the patience of a saint! WHERE did you get that?

Hee... I bumped into a woman a couple weeks ago that tried to convince me that there are underground (literally in tunnels and bunkers) FEMA concentration camps where people are being taken to be "disposed of" ala Nazi style and that the government is injecting people with alzhiemer's causing agents and giving people invisible tattoos with numbers on them that can only be read with a special scanner...

Um. sure.

I, on the other hand, tend to follow Occam's Razor when possible: The more overly complicated an explanation is, the less likely it's true.

Laura, FEMA camps seem to be a common belief amongst conspiracy theorists. I just laugh. What makes them think that FEMA can find individuals, when they can't find a natural disaster site like Katrina?

OK, I just got done reading H.R. 1955. Other than being a huge waste of my tax dollars, I don't see anything threatening here. It's just forming a study group.

There's even a semi-heartening passage in the bill:
"In General- The Department of Homeland Security's efforts to prevent ideologically based violence and homegrown terrorism as described herein shall not violate the constitutional rights, civil rights, or civil liberties of United States citizens or lawful permanent residents."

Sorry, Karen...TONS of literary influences/references! Stephen King, Flann O'Brien, Aldous Huxley, a graphic novel called "The Watchmen", possibly Borges, etc. etc... Then there's the literature directly mentioned in the show (Dickens, "Turn of the Screw", etc.) I think you could read Lost-relates stuff for a few years.

If the NWO is shooting lasers at my wisdom teeth, it's still my own damn fault for not getting them yanked sooner!

Laura, OMFG! I think you met John Nash in drag! ;D
