Favourite Links Meme

Tagged by the one and only Wandering Coyote. Which websites (other than blogs) do I visit frequently, and why do I like them?

1. The Anomalist (http://www.anomalist.com/). Weird news and views ranging from Bigfoot sightings to quantum theory, updated daily. Not only is it good for a giggle, but there are often links to genuinely intriging articles tucked away in there (like this one about the mysterious deaths of nine Russian skiers in 1959).

2. Achewood (http://www.achewood.com/). The best webcomic in existence, hands-down. A diverse group of bachelors who happen to be animals deal with everything from molecular gastronomy to depression. Achewood is literate, timely, funny, wildly inventive... what Sunday comic can say the same?

3. Disinfo (http://www.disinfo.com/). News links pertaining to current events, magick, conspiracy theory, art, history, and just about anything else you can imagine. The Disinfo archives are bizarre and fascinating, filled with such gems as Paul Krassner's "The Parts Left Out of the Patty Hearst Trial" and site creator Richard Metzger's bio of Robert Anton Wilson. I could spend days reading here.

4. The Museum of Hoaxes (http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/) Alex Boese's fun site helps keep me up-to-date on the latest hoaxes, scams, schemes, and pranks.

5. Also: YouTube, Natalie Dee, and Icanhascheezburger

The link in the Anomalist was pretty cool. I at first thought it was zombies, but then realized that they had been running from zombies and the Russian government killed them with some kind of weapon and covered it up the best they could. They didn't want people to go hysterical once they knew zombies were loose. The guy missing the tongue is definitely proof that zombies got him.

The Museum of Hoaxes I'm familiar with. I'm also a big fan of Snopes.

I just spent way too much time on The Museum of Hoaxes. I did pretty good on the photo hoax quizzes, though.
