Opinions please....

“Israeli businesses, which had offices in the [World Trade Center] Towers, vacated the premises a week before the attacks [of 9/11], breaking their lease to do it.”

How do you feel about this statement?
What do you think it implies?
What images does this evoke for you?

I have my own thoughts and opinions on this statement, but I'd like to hear what others have to say about it before I share them. I'm curious.

At the risk of sounding really, really cold: I'm so over it.

Just my 2 cents.

I know the feeling. The proposed bailout in the States is a big deal, but the debate over it seems inane to me. When you're already umpteen trillion in debt and still fighting a two-front war, what difference will another several billion really make? It's like clearcutting a rainforest, then arguing over whether or not to uproot the lone remaining vine.

I have to agree with Coyote. I heard about these claims on the news the other day and the first thing I wondered about was are they being taken out of context? Our election is turning into joke with the number of candidates that are being forced (or "asked") to resign...

As for the bailout, I'm not sure which scares me more - the government coming to the rescue of all these big financial institutions and getting themselves even further into debt (which really doesnt' solve anything does it - where is this money coming from?) or staying in at least two wars that we know of neither of which they look like they can win. Both spell bad news for the Americans I think.

Well, first - I'd like to see the sources cited for the statement. Note, sources - plural.

Then you have to rule out chance - show me documents that prove there weren't plans to move their offices in the works already, or that there weren't tenant disagreements or lease issues or something else to spur the move, if, in fact, it actually happened.

I did not hear this, or this bit of news did not travel across the Atlantic. Anyway, my first impression is that it is made up or a simple coincidence (unless it was a few unrelated companies). What motivation would Israel have to do this? Okay, I withdraw this question, they have motive (to make sure US hates Islam as much as they do), but it would have been an over drastic mean to an end which I don't believe Israel could have done considering how the US is their best and stronger ally. So I'm with your mom anti-semitism
