YAY!

Apolitical as I am, I was totally hyped for this U.S. election. I was so nervous the night before that I had funky nightmares about castles toppling and people falling down elevator shafts. "Please not McPalin, please not McPalin, please not McPalin..."
But as the day went on I only got happier and happier. So happy that I sang along with "Kyrie Eleison down the road that I must travel" in the grocery store, and I hate that song.

Now I'm just relieved. No, things won't be perfect under Obama (he is a politician, after all), but I'm so tired of watching old white guys run the U.S. and Canada. It's about time we had some variety. Give someone else a chance to screw things up.

In other news, I finally found a DVD copy of my favourite Robert Altman film, A Wedding. At first I was furious that it only came in an Altman box set that included M*A*S*H and two other movies I didn't particularly want to see, but then I looked at the price: $20.

And Sophie is extremely pissed off with me because we rearranged the furniture today, moving her cage away from the window and replacing it with a table so I can blog and look out the window at the same time. She can still get to her favourite napping spot, next to the heater, but that's not good enough. I don't know what it is with bunnies, but they just hate anybody TOUCHING THEIR STUFF.

Is THAT what the lyrics are? I could never understand the first part of that line...

Yeah, it's pretty garbled...sounds more like "Keeley ate a raisin."

The lyrics come from the latin Catholic mass. They mean 'Lord have mercy'.

I like the song though.

Was equally hyped about the US election and especially about the result. It's a bit astonishing how close the results were state by state (in most cases).
