Friday? More like Freezeday.

It's a lovely but cold day.

The '08 Ottawa Animation Festival is showing tonight, and I try to catch that every year. The big draw for me this time is Run Wrake's The Control Master. Here's the trailer:

Looks interesting. Hope you enjoy it. We lose our Tv as of Feb 19th or somethign like that when they take our satelite away to Digital and Jeff reefuses to buy a converter box..

I don't think we have an animation festival here - we have a film, $100 film, fringe, commercials, beer commercials, etc festival, but no animation one of which I am aware.
We must correct this oversight, I think.

Tweets, are you sure you have to pay for the digital converter? I thought they were giving them away, since people don't have any choice about converting? If not, that sucks, now that people can't even use bunny ears. :S

Animation festivals are soooo fun! The first half of this one was a little disappointing - lots of self-conscious artschool stuff - but the second half made up for it. Dennis Tupicoff's "Chainsaw" is great.
A $100 film festival sounds interesting...

Yes, you have to pay for the converter, but the gov't will give you a $40 coupon towards a converter box. Most areas are actually adding channels through their over-the-air service through digital.

So about how much do you have to pay for the converter box?
