Freaky toys

Watching a rerun of the Chinpokomon episode of South Park, I had flashbacks to Pokemon. My little brother could imitate each Poke-thingy so accurately that his friend could immediately guess which one it was. I had no freakin' idea what was going on. I'm just thankful it's over!
But when you think about it, most of the fad toys and characters of the last couple decades were/are every bit as baffling and bizarre:

Cabbage Patch dolls: Orphans in boxes.

Holly Hobby: Mennonite chick without a face.

My Little Pony: Inspired by a bad acid trip?

YOU'RE thankful; how about me? I do have to admit that Pokemon taught Z to do math in his head, so I guess there was a redeeming value there.
I did pretty well on the first 100 Pokemon, but when they added another 100, I gave up!
BTW, you forgot Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake. Can't forget the Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak ya ta ta tat ta .... If I remember correctly, you had a little dance that went with this ;)

ah, the ones I thougth were freaky were he-man and she-rah and that damned green battle cat! And smurfs? and what a responsibility if your smurfette and the only female smurf! transformers always freaked me out too. What ever happened to baseball gloves and tin soldiers? Which, I guess, should freak me out too!

I believe DAD made up the Peculiar Purple Pieman dance. Ask him to him to do it, I bet he still knows how!
Strawberry Shortcake isn't TOO strange, except she talks in "Berry." "I'm having a berry nice day, thank you berry much!" But I think the Smurfs do that too...

Now that you mention it, I think Dad did make up the dance.

GWB, one word-manamana!!

Transformers - a car/truck/spaceship that turns into a robot.

The smurfs, teletubbies, and Barnie are all products of Satan. :p

My kid loves pokemon. I hate that show and hate how he spends his hard-earned money on those stupid cards.
