Idiosyncrasy

My mom recently posted about her idiosyncrasies and I thought of doing the same, but I have too many. So I'll just mention the one that really baffles Richard: I like to study things I hate more than I like to study things I like. If something bugs the hell out of me, I immediately start reading about it. For example, I'd rather read about creepy life-destroying cults (hate) instead of Dietrich Bonhoeffer (like). To me this makes perfect sense. A large part of it is wanting to know my enemy. Sure, it would make more sense to study squirrels and tofu recipes and the French Resistance and suchlike, but where's the fun in studying stuff you already admire?!
