One fine fall day a few years ago, Richard and I were taking one of our day-long walks in the river valley with our big backpacks when we came across a hideous troll-like creature (see photo below) lying on a hillside. Richard picked it up and examined it, but I made him put it down 'cause it was grossing me out. We proceeded downtown. People were giving me a lot of funny looks, and I was getting annoyed. "Jeez, people, haven't you ever seen a backpack before?" Then we stopped for lunch and I discovered Richard had attached the hideous troll to my pack.
Anyway, I started to thing of the troll as lucky (for some strange reason), and he's been sitting on various bookshelves in our apartments ever since. He didn't have a name or anything, though. Just "hideous unwashed troll".
A few days ago I was watching Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, and my troll sauntered onto the screen! Turns out he was a character on the cartoon Thundercats, and his name is Snarf.
