Someone sent photos of some of Mueck's sculptures to www.museumofhoaxes.com, wondering if they were real or just Photoshopped images. Alex Bose said they were real, but I had to check it out for myself...and yep, they're very real. Mueck left a career in TV/movie model-making, then did some work ("Pinoccio") for his mother-in-law, the painter Paula Rego, and never looked back. From what I understand, he has had no formal training in sculpture or design. He bases most of his work on people he knows, but messes with the scale. He did a nude sculpture of his dad that isn't much bigger than a Ken doll, for instance.

Where is this? I have looked at the larger image and don't understand...
The details on the feet of this one are incredible!
I know! And look at the knees; they're wrinkly like real knees. You can even see veins on the arms. Incredible.
His work is unbelievable- how did you find these? What's the story about them all? Do tell.
