A drizzly-cold-damp day here, not unpleasant but definitely not strolling weather. We went out for a meal tonight, something we don't do often despite the plethora of cool restaurants downtown - I like cooking - and had an awesome, authentic Tandoori meal that we could only eat in microscopic portions. Not spicy, just very, very rich. Me and rich food are not the best of friends.
One hour 'til Lost! Whoo! I missed it last week because I goofed on the time, and was I piiiiissssed!
I'm about finished with The Stand. I got more and more into the story after about the first third, and now I'm really digging it. I can see a lot of the influence it had on Lost, which was something the writers mentioned once (Stephen King in general was a big influence on the series, but not overtly). But it also relates to discussions Richard and I have sometimes about the nature of faith and belief, how we can occasionally know things we aren't supposed to know (if the regular old laws of nature apply), how events can be 100% real to one person and completely false for another (as with demonic possession, faith healing, alien abductions, miracles, etc.), and how sometimes it's just better to accept that things don't have to make sense to be real, and that there are still deep, unsolveable mysteries in the world...

I watched Lost last night and was really frustrated by it. Now I'm wondering if it's worth the long term investment. I just don't get any of it...Mind you I wasn't in the best frame of mind last night to begin with, and my family is just as confused as I am. I don't know anymore...
It can be baffling. Things come together very slowly, in dribs and drabs. Remember that the really bizarre, out-there events make perfect sense in a place where nothing makes sense (yet everything makes perfect sense, because everything seems to be happening for a reason). Make sense?
This is exactly why I don't watch Lost! ;)
