RIP RAW

I just found out Robert Anton Wilson died earlier this week. I don't know precisely how to describe this guy. He was a sci-fi/conspiracy/comic novelist and philosopher and prankster who had some very interesting ideas on how the world works; that's as close as I can get. Just one example: He knew the Priory of Sion was a Surrealist hoax years before anyone else outside France (including, of course, Dan Brown).
But I think he was a lot more than that. George Carlin said, "I have learned more from Robert Anton Wilson than I have from any other source."
I bought a documentary about him just before Christmas, Maybe Logic, and I'm embarrassed to say I haven't watched it yet. I think I'll do that tonight.

Interesting. I never heard of him. I'll have to check out some literature perhaps.

I think we're getting the remnants of your winter storm tomorrow. Except it's too warm to actually snow, so we're getting sleet and freezing rain! Joy!

The good news is our "storm of the century" was pretty weak. But freezing rain...blech. ;(

I haven't read RAW's "Illuminatus" trilogy of comic/sci-fi/conspiracy novels, but I hear they're good. That's what he's most famous for.

This the hardest I have laughed all week with the post I posted earlier in the week. It feels so good to laugh abot this stuff instead of holding it in. I talk to J about it but he doesnt know what to say or do so I usually just keep it inside. I am really enjoying this with you guys. We have freezing rain today and I have to walk to get K here in a few minutes. I will have a car of my own by Feb but it still sucks. When taxes come back hes planning on getting me a car. Just a beater to run to the school to get K or to the store while hes at work. I wont go to far with it or the girls until I get my liscense that I am planning on when taxes come back too. Well anyway I shall be leaving now. Will be back on Monday to read posts and comment on them. LOL... Have a great weekend my friends. N.

Let us know how you liked the documentary. Some of these guys I think, even seemingly silly sci movies - can be sort of prophetic as to what is coming sometimes.

The storm of the century is still coming here - still snowing, and a second wave to come in tomorrow. I'm out of packing materials - will HAVE to go out in it tomorrow - argh - and I've lost my Dr. Seuss fur hat.......

I am happy you are making a crazy citizen of blogging here. I have made plenty a friends here through you gals and guys of course. Keep them coming but I dont know what to expect next though. I might regret saying those words. Well I am going ot go to bed. Have a few things to do before kids start showing up tomorrow and I need some sleep if I am going to have enough energy to keep up. LOL.. Later N.

Gardenia, I am intrigued by this "Dr. Seuss fur hat"! I hope your Storm of the Century is over soon, or that you find it.
