Opinions Needed!

Humor me, folks. Do me a big, fat favor. Watch this short video and tell me what you think is going on in it.

Why? Well, Richard (and a lot of other people) suspect that "gangstalking" has become a problem in the world today. Not your run-of-the-mill stalking by cultists or psychotic neighbors or romantically/fanatically obsessed people, but by "gangs of unemployed terrorists" who apparently select targets at random and try to drive them nuts. This may be a government operation, according to some of the victims.

My grandmother has been gangstalked for over 30 years by FBI agents, firemen, neighbors she doesn't know, and Sam Donaldson.

That's because she's a paranoid schizophrenic.

My thoughts on this video: If you sit in your car in broad daylight filming every pedestrian, cyclist, and motorist who passes by....
A. People will watch you closely, wondering what's up, wondering why they're being filmed by a total stranger in a parked car. (I know this woman thinks she can't be seen, but I'm sure she can.)
B. If you observe the traffic patterns in your neighborhood closely, you will notice a lot of "strange" activity (people circling the block because they're lost, children wandering aimlessly, etc.). For instance, I've noticed that in my neighborhood, the same homeless people show up day after day. I suspect that a few of them are not actually homeless, yet they associate with the obviously homeless people in a conspiratorial manner (talking quietly, standing in groups) and take an undue interest in the financial situations of certain people ("Got any change?"). Perhaps they're gangstalking? Heck, maybe they're dropped off by the CIA every morning and picked up again in the evening!

Terroristic stalking, even gangstalking, does occur and it is a serious crime. But for our own good, let's make an effort to distinguish between real stalking and unchecked paranoia.

I have to agree with you here. I think this woman is just being paranoid. I mean who sits in there car taping strangers? I wouldnt. No thanks I have better things to do than that.

Jesus christ... do any of these people live in the city I wonder? If I questioned the motives of every person I encountered in Chicago who motioned "toward" me or gave me a funny look, I'd drive myself nuts.

Also, it's important to note that generally speaking, the people I know who assume that someone across the street is looking at them, motioning toward them, laughing "at" them, or referring to them without having any idea what the person is really doing often have problems with self esteem or paranoia to begin with (i.e. thinking that someone staring in your direction is obviously staring at YOU because you're already self conscious).

My thoughts exactly. Of course people are going to look at you funny if you videotape them from a parked car for hours. These "stalkers" aren't actually doing much of anything, so just ignore 'em! If she had to look this hard to find the people who were supposedly trying to drive her crazy, then she's really driving herself crazy.

Yup, this woman will be the next one to pack her bags and jump on the nearest fire truck!

I suppose we're all supposed to walk, and bike, with our eyes on the ground in front of us so as not to arouse suspicion?

And for the love of God, don't make vague hand gestures in the general direction of anyone!!

My hand gestures are NEVER vague! ;)

Sorry not me, I think gang stalking could be real. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt...Just like UFO seers , Ive never seen a UFO so...I'm still open to the idea, I'm sure there was a time no one on the planet except the victims would have believed Priests to be pedophiles, and now its totally out in the open. Got to be open minded to all the possibilities folks, Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.”

Do NOT tell me you quoted Sherlock Holmes to illustrate paranoia about gang-stalking. :P

I dunno, it COULD theoretically happen. I'm open to the idea, but barely. (Until I see evidence, as always.)

I think that with this particular video, a lot of possibilities have been eliminated.

One of my friends was a coke addict. When he would go on a binge, he turned into a "window peeker." According to him, when he sobered up, there are two types of coke addicts - window peekers, and carpet crawlers. Carpet crawlers spend hours looking for more coke, because it had to be hidden somewhere.

Window peekers think everyone is a cop. I used to play chess with him while on a coke binge and he'd always be asking me to check every noise. I'd usually have to explain to him what it was - a woman going to her car because she forgot her purse, a homeless guy talking to himself, etc. It was annoying.

How does this relate to gangstalking? They're both paranoia. At least he had an excuse. He was a coke addict.

Oh, I agree with what Laura said.

Oh, edit...that was him on a coke binge, not me. I never tried coke. No desire to.

ZS, I don't think it's fair to play chess with someone on coke. You more often than not have the advantage. :P

Laura, I actually feel that. That thing where "everybody is laughing at me". Stupid self-esteem! >_<

S.M. Elliott said...

I dunno, ZS's friend might actually have had the advantage in chess because of that...

I don't know about coke, but maybe stimulants are to blame for this lady's problems. Is there a Starbucks in that neighborhood, by any chance? ;P

This brought back memories of Wild Kingdom where every effort was made to embarrass and harass the animals. That gave way to Whatever Jacques Cousteau's show was.

Weird, man.
