Lavender Soup and Heroin for Christmas Eve!

This year I used a rice blend in my Christmas Eve wild rice-mushroom soup, not realizing there was some red rice in it. It's somewhat purplish now, but I figure if we eat with the lights down low it should be cool...

Demi and I watched A Christmas Story and the Spongebob Christmas special today, so Richard insists on watching William Burroughs' stop-motion A Junky's Christmas after dinner. Not as bad as it sounds - it actually is a touching Christmas story, if you can get past, you know, the needles and the dismembered foot and stuff.

Does that rice mix come in a pink package? If so, I've tried it and that rice mix is quite yummy! I've never seen this Junky thingy but you're not the first person to mention it this year. Hmmm.

Happy holidays! All the best for you and your family (including the adorable Sophie) in the new year.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, too! Hope it's as hectic-yet-relaxing as can be!

This rice mix came in a big ol' bucket-type container. The soup turned out better than expected after all...just a teeny bit of a mauve undertone. ;D

Ha, ha - I love Christmas Story. We watched that last night. My favorite all-time Christmas movie tradition is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

I stil have A Christmas Story on VHS. We didn't watch much TV over Christmas this year...Richard even tore himself away from making fun of Glen Beck for two days out of the year, bless his heart! ;D
