What I'm Doing

Just bought the Sims 2 at long last, plus seasons 1-5 of The X-Files because they're on sale right now (actually I already had season 3, just for "Jose Chung's From Outer Space"). Sims 2 runs on my laptop, unlike the original, and I'm overwhelmed by all the groovy new options.
I never watched X-Files when it was popular, for some reason, but now I'm intrigued by the story arc involving human-alien pacts and military abductions. Aside from the "black oil", just about everything in the show is derived from actual conspiracy theories and paranormal phenomena. Even the pact is based on a story that Eisenhower made a secret deal with aliens in 1954, called the Grenada Treaty, which allowed them to experiment on as many Americans and cows as they wished in exchange for their technology.

Next month I'll be handing out info on the Charles Camsell site at an Aboriginal "Prison Justice Day". I'm still trying to snag the interest of forensic anthropologists - no luck yet.

I'm reading Tom Robbins's Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas, which is hilarious but slow-paced.

Oh, how I love the X-Files. Except the last 2 seasons, which were confusing, convoluted, and sucky. I loved the movie and am looking forward to seeing the new one, though I've heard only ho-hum things about it.

I've heard exactly that about the final two seasons. I'll steer clear of them, I think. ;P

The first movie was definitely better, but this one isn't bad.

What's going on with summer movies this year? None of them are getting good reviews.

Summer movies are almost always awful, IMO! They're aimed at kids and teenagers on vacation - lots of talking animals, gross-out comedies, comic book superheroes, and gory action/horror flicks. Blggghh.

The best two episodes of the X-files are HANDS DOWN, Bad Blood and From Outer Space. They have such good humor. :P

I haven't seen Bad Blood yet - one to look forward to!
From Outer Space still makes me laugh, and I've seen it about half a dozen times. "Roswell! ROSWELL!"
