Lentil Soup & Purple Plates

Just a quick post so everybody doesn't have to keep looking at the Penis Power clips...

Richard and I are finally just about over our colds, and now I can do all the stuff I was putting off. Like, um, taking down the Christmas decorations. But that's for tomorrow. Tonight I'm just going to do some reading, make a big ol' pot of lentil soup, and watch Paranormal State.

My next post will probably be about Purple Plates. (Update: That post is here.) Richard and I were having coffee with friends yesterday when Rebecca took a thin rectangle of mauve-coloured, anodized aluminum out of her purse and placed it under her water bottle. She explained that these things are supposed to energize water, de-alcoholize alcoholic beverages, and de-caffeinate caffeinated beverages as well as heal cuts and scrapes within minutes, using "Tesla technology."
They were heavily promoted by Linda Goodman, and Rebecca's into astrology, so I assume that's where she first learned about them. Here's what Goodman had to say about purple plates in her book Star Signs:

"These plates have been channeled to Earth from the higher realms, through the mind and brain of a man who knew Nikola Tesla, and has studied his discoveries in depth, but who prefers to remain anonymous, as do many Cancerians of profound insight...
Their atomic structure has been altered, so that they are in resonance with a high-frequency vibration of the life energy force, in a complex way, connected with the known energy of negative ions."

'Kay.

If you think that's bad, check out "Quantum Age Stirwands". They're basically swizzle sticks, but they can do *anything*. The disclaimer is hilarious: "Stirwand™ descriptions and suggestions for use are subjective and are not intended to represent scientific fact, except for hydration, oxygenation and cellular detoxification which have scientific proof."

Well, doy. My freakin' tapwater has scientific proof, too, then.

Okay, that's stretching it for me. I didn't check the link. Think I'll go back and do that.
