Well, it's been a quiet year so far. I didn't feel like bundling up for the fireworks this year, so we watched them from our window...downtown living has its benefits!

I got news from the vet: Sophie doesn't have any kind of infection, so her scratching and dry skin is probably just, well, dry skin. I can sympathize. The air is so freakin' dry right now that you can barely move without giving yourself an electric shock; poor Sophie gets zapped every time she starts to bunch her towel or play with her scarf. It's not easy being fluffy.

Tomorrow a Truther friend of Richard's is throwing a little pizza-and-paranoia party, and Sunday is my birthday. Seven Pounds put me off movies for the week, but I do want to see either Doubt or The Reader on my b-day.

Tonight I'm just going to veg. Finish a couple of library books, watch Burn after Reading again, have some "meetloaf".

Anyway, I hope everybody's first weekend of the new year is a good one!

Burn After Reading is HILARIOUS. I still almost peed my pants laughing when they first call Osborne. "We thought you might be worried...about the security of your shit." ;D

It was nice getting out tonight, but dang am I glad to be home in fuzzy pajamas with a cup of hot, hot tea.

Well, they have this thing called Redbox in the stores here that allows you to rent movies for $1 a day. It's a big red box that stores movies. Some guy comes and adds and takes away DVDs every week.

Well, every time I go to it, Burn After Reading has been checked out. I keep hearing I have to see it, and this is coming from people I respect when it comes to film.

Dry skin? Give her a bath with conditioner. That's what we do for our dogs.

Happy birthday! Your Mom's tribute was hilarious.

Happy birthday, SME! YOu're right, dry air does make the little furry ones itch. The Most Spoiled Cat In The Universe reacts in the same way.
