World's Shortest Movie Review: "Be Kind, Rewind"
( crocheted robot by Nicole Gastonguay)
Summary: A paranoid klutz named Jerry (Jack Black) gets electrocuted while trying to sabotage the mind-control beams of the local power station, and becomes magnetized - bad news for the discount video store where his friend Mike (Mos Def) works. Mike & Jerry replace the erased tapes by starting up a custom-order moviemaking business to replace all the erased tapes, filming everything from Robocop to The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. Will they save the doomed store and battle corporate entertainment? The Bottom Line: Bizarr-o, slapsticky, retro fun from start to finish. I had a wicked stomachache and this movie made me forget it for two hours ... the magic of cinema! I totally want a Sweded videostore in my neighborhood. This movie gave me whole new respect for things like fanfiction, gawdawful as it may be.
A Side Note: This movie reminded me of the kids who recreatedRaiders of the Lost Ark in a backyard. Great story.
I live in the land of Estoty with my sweetie, Richard, and our cat. I'm one of those mature (thirtysomething) students you see in the halls, the ones who make you think, "Well good for her, she hasn't given up on life yet, although she probably should."
My goal: to become a lawyer
