World's Shortest Movie Review: "Be Kind, Rewind"

( crocheted robot by Nicole Gastonguay)

Summary: A paranoid klutz named Jerry (Jack Black) gets electrocuted while trying to sabotage the mind-control beams of the local power station, and becomes magnetized - bad news for the discount video store where his friend Mike (Mos Def) works. Mike & Jerry replace the erased tapes by starting up a custom-order moviemaking business to replace all the erased tapes, filming everything from Robocop to The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. Will they save the doomed store and battle corporate entertainment?
The Bottom Line: Bizarr-o, slapsticky, retro fun from start to finish. I had a wicked stomachache and this movie made me forget it for two hours ... the magic of cinema!
I totally want a Sweded videostore in my neighborhood. This movie gave me whole new respect for things like fanfiction, gawdawful as it may be.

A Side Note: This movie reminded me of the kids who recreated Raiders of the Lost Ark in a backyard. Great story.

I've liked Jack Black in everything but King Kong, so I'd give it a whirl. I'm guessing that if you liked it, your brother will too.

I didn't even bother with King Kong. Peter Jackson sooo let me down after Heavenly Creatures. *sigh*

I do think Z would like this one.

I didn't watch all of Kong. Dad and Z wanted to see it...and regretted it.

Isnt that how siblings go?? LOL.. If Kora doesnt like something more than likely Bri wont either.. That will change as they get older but for now that is what goes on. Sounds like a good movie.

The trailer looked funny but for the first time with a Jack Black comedy, I decided to give this one a miss.

I almost did too, but in the end I just couldn't pass up the director, Michel Gondry. He's crazy and I've liked all his other movies, even Human Nature.
